I am interested in studying Palaeoclimates and Palaeoenvironments of sedimentary archives. My work focuses on palaeoclimatic fluctuation around biodiversity crisis intervals/mass extinction horizons especially the Triassic-Jurassic Boundary (TJB) interval. I have worked on sedimentology and palaeoclimatic fluctuations during the Permian to Cretaceous time intervals on the NW passive Tethyan margin of the Indian Plate and it regional and global correlations. I am specialised in using framework composition, sediments geochemistry, bulk mineralogical composition using XRD, clay mineralogy, and heavy minerals analysis. Additionally, I work on seismic reflection data and its use in basin modelling and tectonic reconstructions. Currently, I am working on the Triassic-Jurassic transition focusing mainly on the palaeoclimatic fluctuations and sedimentation style. I am also working on the sedimentation and palaeoclimatic fluctuations during the Pleistocene-Holocene glaciation-deglaciation and the concept of early Anthropocene.
