Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has appreciated the role of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), saying it is effectively contributing towards national development through quality education and relevant research.
He was addressing the ground breaking ceremony of a girls’ hostel at QAU sponsored by Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL). Referring to the construction of Hostel, the minister said such work was part of the OGDCL’s responsibilities to return to the community and hoped the company would construct such more facilities.
The OGDCL’s MD Mohammad Riaz Khan and QAU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai also delivered their speeches, hoping the accommodation facility would go a long way in boosting female students’ enrollment and performance.
The OGDCL has signed an agreement with Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad for establishment of a girls’ hostel with the accommodation capacity of 300 inmates under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. An amount of Rs. 60 million has been allocated for the project.
