The
Xilinx University Program (XUP) was established
in 1985 to promote education and research
using Xilinx Programmable Logic Device (PLD)
technologies. Today, with 57% worldwide market
share in the commercial FPGA (Field Programmable
Gate Array) market, Xilinx is also the most
widely used PLD vendor in the academic market.
They support well over 1,600 universities
worldwide with state-of-the-art PLD products
and services.

Xilinx Programmable Logic become the essential
design element in top electronics industry.
One reason is because Xilinx Programmable
Logic is easy to use and fun to teach with.
Department of Electronics is a registered
member of Xilinx University Program (XUP).
Department of Electronics has received donations
and support from Xilinx. These donations in
the form of software tools and programmable
hardware design kits. XUP has played significant
role in bringing up department of Electronics
labs by providing state of the art FPGA prototyping
boards, FPGA design tools, and debugging tool

ISE Foundation 6.2i |
| Xilinx
ISE is the worlds highest performance software
for programmable logic: version 6.2i of its
Integrated Software Environment (ISE). ISE Foundation
is the industry's most complete programmable
logic design environment. ISE Foundation includes
the industry's most advanced timing driven implementation
tools available for programmable logic design,
along with design entry, synthesis and verification
capabilities. |

| ChipScope
Pro 6.2i |
| ChipScope
Pro inserts logic analyzer, bus analyzer, and
Virtual I/O low-profile software cores into
your design. These cores allow you to view all
the internal signals and nodes within your FPGA,
including the IBM CoreConnect Processor Local
Bus or On-Chip Peripheral Bus supporting the
IBM PowerPC 405 inside the industry-leading
Virtex-II Pro FGPA. Signals are captured at
or near operating system speed and brought out
through the programming interface, freeing up
pins for your design, not debug. Captured signals
can then be analyzed through the ChipScope Pro

| System
Generator |
| Xilinx
Foundation ISE 6.2i support to mix the logic
blocks of DSP using Matlab Simulink with System
generator. To make the best use of our DSP technology,
with the least amount of effort, Xilinx offers
the System Generator for DSP software. System
Generator for DSP is the industry's premier
software tool for designing, simulating, implementing,
and debugging high performance FPGA-based DSP
systems from a single environment i.e. Simulink.

| LogicCore
(PCI32/PCI64) |
| PCI (Peripheral
Component Interconnect) has become one of the most
popular bus standards. The PCI64 and PCI32 LogiCORE
enables designers to build a customized 64-bit or
32-bit system running at speeds up to 66MHz that performs
at 528 Mbytes per second and with up to 300,000 system
gates. It provides programmable solution with customizable
back-end functionality. Refer to the data sheet for
part and package support. |

| Forge
|
| The
Xilinx Forge high-level language compiler is
the next enabling technology for a new generation
of design methods. The Forge Compiler allows
designers to work at a higher level of abstraction
than standard HDLs. Using standard Java, designers
can produce designs that are both efficient
and high-performance in fewer lines of code.
