The
The first ever admission to M.Sc. Statistics programme
was in January 1994, under the umbrella of the Department
of Mathematics. Within a few years the Statistics graduates
from this university proved their statistical skills for their
employers, as a consequence of which generally the students got
early and good jobs in the market. |
The Department of Statistics was formally commissioned in January 2001.
There are at present 6 faculty members, though small in number but have
wealth of teaching experience and ability to conduct independent research.
The department is running M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs. Since 1996,
more than 300 students have been conferred M.Sc. degree in Statistics.
Presently, the department is being run by the Chairman, Professor
Dr. Muhammad Aslam.
