Humaira Fatima is Assistant Professor of Pharmacognosy in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Biological Sciences at Quaid-I-Azam University. She has a first degree in Pharmacy, an M.Phil. in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and a PhD in Pharmacognosy. Her research activities are focused on isolation, and characterization of bioactive phytochemicals from ethnomedicinally significant plants. Currently she is working on drug discovery from plants against Leukemia, arthritis, Leishmania, and H. pylori induced gastric carcinoma. 

Dr. Humaira Fatima is the author of over 33 research publications. During her 6 years of teaching and research experience, she has supervised 16 M.Phil. students in Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry and  is currently supervising 5 PhD research scholars.

As a Principal Investigator, she is working on the International Foundation for Science (IFS) research grant and a grant through National Research Program for universities (NRPU), HEC, Pakistan (2021-2022). She also served as a Co-Principal Investigator in another NRPU research project on onychomycosis. She has also filed two patent applications, with plans for commercialization upon approval.
