The group is engaged in diversified research fields such as material chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry and synthesis of biodiesel. Presently, seven Ph.D. and two M.Phil. Students are working in the group.

In bioinorganic chemistry, various organometallic and coordination complexes have been synthesized and characterized by various techniques. Their biological aspects including DNA interaction, enzyme inhibition, anticancer and antidiabetic studies have been performed.

The biodiesel was synthesized from various non-edible oils and subsequently characterized by various analytical techniques. The catalytic properties of different organometallic compounds in the synthesis of biodiesel have also been investigated.

Work is also being carried out for the fabrication of functionalized carbon nanotubes and their uses in polymer matrices to enhance the thermomechanical properties.
