RESEARCH FACILITIES
ADVANCE MATERIALS PHYSICS LABORATORY

The Advance materials Physic laboratory is newly established laboratory in the Physics department of Quaid-i-Azam University , Islamabad , Pakistan . This Lab. focuses on the characterization of new materials and crystalline semiconductors. The following techniques are used for characterization: Four probe resistivity measurement technique.

  1. Single short technique.
  2. Deep level Transient Spectroscopy.
  3. Charge Pumping Technique.
  4. Thermally Stimulated Luminescence.

First four techniques are in working condition while the last one is under process of installation. Moreover, current voltage and capacitance voltage characteristics are also measured to study the effect of thermal treatment and radiations on shallow dopants. Anodic and vapor etching techniques has also been developed in the lab for fabrication of porous silicon and other materials. We also have access to different laboratories for using SEM, TEM, XRD, FTIR, Photo spectrometer, PL and Raman spectroscopy.
