| On June
5, 2004, a seminar on Reward system and employee discipline
was held. The HR manager Mr. Rana M Akram of Attock refinery
limited Rawalpindi, briefed the students on this topic. He
told different dimensions relating to this topic and briefed
the arguments with many practical examples.
Another seminar was held on 8th June. It
was focused on MBTI and career choices, The spokes person
here was Mr. Anis-ul-haq the assist. professor national institute
of psychology, QAU. The MBTI seminar had been focusing on
the major dimensions of the subject; the professor had made
a complete research on the topic, creating a better theoretical
frame work for his speech.
Seminar was held on June 12th. It was focused
on occupational health and safety, Dr. Shoaib Ahmad, the asst.
manager medical; from Pakistan oilfield Ltd, briefed the students
on this topic. Major issues were raised regarding occupational
health and people safety; when the seminar was held.
A seminar was conducted on the topic "International
Marketing and Trading". The guest speaker in this seminar
was Mr. Tariq Chaudhry, lecturer at California State University.
Another seminar was organized on "Customer
Relationship Management" where Mr. Khurram Rahat, the
Country Manager for Pakistan and Bangladesh NCR Corporation,
briefed the students about current practices.
Mr. Wahid Hashmi, Manager Directing Recruitment
and Training Habib Bank Ltd. spoke on the topic of "Marketing
of Financial Goods & Services". At this occasion,
Chairman DAS Dr. Naseer Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the
students and the course in charge. He added that such kind
of knowledge sharing activities should be carried on as these
are the major tools for increasing the students' knowledge.
The student of mass communication course
of the Department of administrative sciences organized a drama
skit competition on the topic of 'Child Abuse'. The chief
guest on this occassion was Mr. Sana-ullah Aman (Director
of Sports, Culture and park facilities CDA). The event was
highly attended by schools of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The
participating students presented their skits on the topic
of 'Child Abuse'. In the end the chief guest distributed shields
among the best performance.
Visits:
The students of the department
of Administrative sciences belonging to different semesters
visited the following organization during the current semester.
1. Visited Evernew Concepts
and Media agency, Blue Area, Islamabad.
On June 4, 2004 the student of mass communication
course visited the media agency, Evernew Concepts. The chief
executive of Evernew Concept Mr. Omar Hamid very graciously
vriefed the students about different projects of the agency.
2. The student of HRM course
of MBA-III visited the Sabro industries I-9 Islamabad. The
HR manager and the production manager of the company briefed
the students on various work progresses of the organization.
Students also visited the factory premises and saw different
production areas.
3. Visit to Amson
Vaccines & Pharma(Pvt.) Ltd.
Another visit of HRM students of MBA-III-B had been arranged
on 1st of April to Amson Vaccines & Pharma (Pvt.) Limited.
At Amson Vaccines & Pharma they were briefed about the
different departments of the company and were shown all the
departments. Mr. Ata Ullah Jan Shinwani (HR Manager) briefed
the students about HR practices at the company. The students
were also shown different production units of the factory.
4. Visit to Kohinoor
Textile Mills Ltd.
The Human Resource Management students visited the Kohinoor
Textile Mills Ltd. Rawalpindi on 15th March, 2004. At KTML
Mr. Saleh Shah (Supervisor Fire Emergency) briefed them about
the production process and occupational health policies observed
by KTML and also guided them through out the tour in each
department personally.
5. Visit to PTV
The Students of Mass Communication course of MBA/MPA III visited
PTV centre Islamabad on March 31, 2004. Engineering Manager
PTV, Mr. Mazher Bukhari briefed students about the transmission
process of the news and other programs. The trip was very
beneficial for the students as it provided them the practical
knowledge about how mass media channels operate.
6. Visit to Pakistan
Broadcasting Corporation
An educational trip of the students of Mass
communication course was arranged on May 17, 2004. The senior
producer Ms Kausar Samreen and Ms Farah Kayani received the
students. They were given a brief introduction about the history
and the working of the Radio Station. They were also shown
various departments of PBC.
7. Visit to the Islamabad
Stock Exchange
The students of MBA/ MPA III visited Islamabad Stock Exchange
on March 12th, 2004. The Associate Manager Dept. of Investor
Relations Mhammad Waris Niazi briefed them about the operations
of the stock exchange. This trip helped students to enhance
their understanding on the operation of ISE.
Events:
Governor State Bank Dr. Ishrat
Hussain visited Quaid-e-Azam University and addressed students,
he briefed the students and faculty members about various
policy initiatives taken out by State Bank of Pakistan.
Miss Mussarrat Misbah of
Depilex in collaboration with Nestle gave free make-over and
information regarding skin problem. The event was organized
with the help of students of Administrative sciences at computer
hall, Quaid-e-Azam University.
