RERUIREMENT OF SUBJECTS FOR MASTER'S PROGRAMMES

Academic Year
Academic Year at Quaid-i-Azam University starts in February and lasts till the middle of January in the following year: Academic year is divided into two semesters, Spring Semester (February to June) & Fall Semester (September to January) University is closed for teaching during the summer break in July & August.

Eligibility Criteria
1
 Anthropology B.A./B.Com./BBA/BPA or B.Sc. in Home Economics.
2
 Animal Sciences B.Sc. with Zoology in combination with any one of the following subjects: - Biochemistry, Botany, Geography, Psychology, Applied Psychology, Environmental Sciences and Bioinformatics. Three years B.Sc.(Hons) degree holders in Zoology, Genetics, Microbiology and Biochemistry are also eligible. B.Sc. degree holders in Medical Laboratory Technology are not eligible.

 Biochemistry B.Sc./ B.Sc.(Hons) three years with Chemistry. In addition any other subject of Biology such as Botany, Zoology, Psychology, Genetics, Marine Technology/ Bio-Agriculture, Microbiology etc.
B.Sc. degree holders in Medical Laboratory Technology are ineligible.

 Business Administration B.A. or B.Sc., BCS/BIT, B.Com, BBA, MBBS, B.Sc. Engineering, B.Sc. (Pharmacy), Agriculture, Marine Technology and Naval Sciences.

 Chemistry B.Sc. with Chemistry., B.Sc. (Hons.3-Years), BS.Ed.(3-Years)

 Computer Science B.A/B.Sc. with Mathematics or Computer Science (2-years duration) Engineering Graduates in all areas except in CS/CE/SE/IT (Computer Science/Computer Engineering/ Software Engineering/Information Technology).

 Defence & Strategic Studies B.A./B.Sc. with one of the following Elective subjects: -
Political Science, Economics, History, Sociology, Geography, Psychology, International Relations, Journalism, Mass Communication, Defence & Diplomatic Studies, Applied Psychology and Pakistan Studies.

 Earth Sciences a) F.Sc. with Physics. b) B.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/B.Tech. with Mathematics and one of the following subjects:-
Physics or Geology or Statistics or Computer Science.

 Economics B.A/B.Sc./B.Com./BBA with Economics.

 Electronics B.Sc. with Physics and Mathematics, B.Tech. (Hons), BCS.

 Gender Studies B.A or B.Sc. with one of the following subjects: -
Sociology, Political Science, Economics, History, Geography, International Relations,

 Information Technology B.A/ B.Sc. with Mathematics/ Information Technology, Computer Science. Bachelors in Engineering/ Business Administration.

 International Relations B.A/B.Sc./BBA/B.Sc.(Hons) degree holders with the following subjects: -
Political Sciences, Journalism, International Relations, History, Geography, Psychology, Applied Psychology, Economics, Philosophy and Sociology.

 Mathematics B.A/B.Sc. with Math-A and Math-B Course or Mathematics (General) with Physics.

 Microbiology 1. (a) B.Sc. Microbiology: (b) B.Sc. with two of the following subjects: -
Botany, Chemistry, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology.
2. B.Sc.(Hons.-3-Years) Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Biochemistry. 3. MBBS, B.Sc. Pharmacy. Candidates with B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology are not eligible.

 Pakistan Studies B.A/ B.Sc. in Home Economics.

 Physics B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Hons.3-Years) with Physics and Mathematics.

 Plant Sciences The student must have read Botany in combination with: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology. Geography, Statistics, Psychology, Environment Science, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or Zoology in their B.Sc. degree program. B.Sc.(Hons-3-Years).

 Public Administration B.A. or B.Sc., BCS/BIT, B.Com, BBA, MBBS, B.Sc. Engineering, B.Sc.(Pharmacy), Agriculture, Marine Technology and Naval Sciences.

 Psychology

B.A/B.Sc. with one of the following subjects: - Psychology, Applied Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Education. B.Sc. in Home Economics/ Behavioral Sciences.
