Sport has always had a special significance through the performance of sporting clubs, teams and high profile athletes that
enhance the reputation of the University. Increasing numbers of students, staff and alumni continue to participate in a range
of sport, related ac, fitness and recreational activities encouraging a balanced lifestyle and building a healthy community.
Participation and involvement in sport events and clubs also develops life long connections that encourage the alumni to
support the University and ensure that sport is an essential component of the Quaid-i-AzamUniversity.
Quaid-i-Azam University Sport Strategic Plan has been prepared by the Directorate of Sports and staff of QAU with the vision
that the University will be the leading Pakistani university in sporting performance, participation and quality of facilities. The
strategic plan is consistent with the University's growing esteem strategy and supports the objective of attracting the 'best
and brightest'.
The Sports Directorate of Quaid-i-Azam University is responsible for providing opportunities of healthy activities to students
amid their stressful academic work. A number of sports activities were organized including Inter-Departmental Tournaments
of Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Lawn Tennis, Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Chess and Snooker in 2011. The year
2011 university also hosted number Inter-university tournaments under the supervision of Higher Education Commission of
Pakistan (HEC) including Inter-university Cricket Tournament for Boys and Girls, Inter-university Women Hockey Tournament,
Inter-university Wushu (Women) Tournament, Inter-university
Taekwondo (Women) Tournament, Inter-university Karate (Women)
Tournament, and Inter-university Judo Championship (Women).
