Academic Council Meetings
The Academic Council has the responsibility for reviewing all University academic programs and related matters. The Council
receives and reviews, from the various departments/centers/schools, proposals and policy decisions regarding their
respective programs. Academic Council is a policy-recommended body, which initiates studies and reviews in consultation
with the respective faculty boards. It has the authority to make recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor’s office on all
important matters that relate to the academic programs andmission of the University.
In the Years 2010 and 2011, ten (10) meetings of the Academic Council were held wherein various decisions such as curriculum
revision, appointment of faculty on the Board of Studies, revision of admission criteria and cases of the same nature were
approved. The following key decisions weremade in the Academic Council meetings in 2010 and 2011.

Approval to initiateMS Degree Programme at the Department of Computer Sciences;

In line with HEC's policy, establishment of a Research Office at Quaid-i-Azam University in order to facilitate research
grants to faculty members. Research Office was later renamed as Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization
(ORIC);

Approval of MBA 3½Year Program in the School of Management Sciences;
?
Approval to launch PhD in Public Health at Health Services Academy;
?
Approval of the policy and procedure for appointment of Adjunct FacultyMembers at QAU.
