Department of
Computer Sciences
The Department of Computer Sciences was established in 1976 at QAU with a vision to provide academic and research
leadership in the field of computing and its applied areas. The department started offering M.Sc. in Computer Sciences which
has been highly successful. Our graduates are working in well reputed national and international organizations.
Due to PhD faculty having expertise in different areas, the department is able to offer a diverse curriculum with significant
breadth and focused depth. The MPhil program, started in Spring 2006, has also been a successful experience. Out of
hundreds of applicants, the Department carefully selects talented research orientedMPhil candidates in its programme. From
fall 2011, admission in PhD programme is also being offered.
The department is keen to serve the community and provide an opportunity to those who are working in the related fields to
improve their qualifications through its flexible programme of Masters in Information Science and Technology.
