Faculty of Social Sciences offers a range of degree Programmes in key disciplines, including Management/ Administration, Economics Finance, Political Science, International Relations, History, Asian Civilization, Anthropology, Sociology, Linguistics, Gender Studies, Psychology, Pakistan Studies and Area Studies. The Faculty is growing both in terms of disciplines of knowledge and Programmes of studies. The Faculty has more than 100 qualified staff. Most of them hold PhD degrees and are well experienced. In addition to typical classroom learning students are provided with

ample opportunities of acquiring knowledge and skills with the help of well-equipped libraries, computer labs, seminars and tutorial sessions. Apart from teaching, the faculty is also actively engaged in research. It runs a well-established research degree Programmes (PhD and MPhil). Over the years quite a large number of faculty members from other universities and colleges have come to the University to improve their qualifications. The faculty has produced nearly 100 PhD and 1000 MPhil scholars. Most of these graduates are serving in teaching and research institutions in Pakistan and abroad.

With the teaching faculty having a broad range of exposure to alternative teaching and research practices around the world, the faculty is able to offer a wholesome package of learning for students. The University is aware of the socioeconomic transition that the country is going through and it has been able to adjust its syllabi to meet the needs of the time. The faculty and students body are also conscious of their moral obligations in addition to teaching-learning process, and with the help of QAU alumni, they are able to operate several organized social activities that include blood donation, disaster response, poverty alleviation, etc.
